What is Roadstone
Roadstone is a crushed stone aggregate commonly used as a sub-base material for construction projects. It compacts firmly, making it ideal for driveways, roads, patios, pathways, and foundations.
What is MOT Type 1 Roadstone?
MOT Type 1 is a graded roadstone that meets Department of Transport specifications. It contains a mixture of stone sizes that compact tightly, providing excellent strength and stability for load-bearing surfaces.
What is Roadstone used for?
Roadstone is commonly used for:
- Driveways and parking areas
- Road and highway sub-bases
- Patios, paving and walkways
- Foundations for sheds, garages, and extensions

How much Roadstone do I need?
The amount required depends on the size and depth of your project. As a general guide:
••1 tonne covers approximately 5–6m² at 50mm depth
We recommend ordering slightly more to allow for compaction. If you’re unsure, contact us and we’ll help calculate the correct amount.
Do you do roadstone in bulk and small quantities?
Yes. We supply roadstone in:
